San Luis Potosi, sharing its name with the state, is located in the heart of Central Mexico in the high desert. It is a blend of Hispanic cultural traditions and customs and has been described as, “Splendor in Colonial Architecture” because of the preservation of more than 400 years of artistic treasures and culture. The atmosphere is very relaxed which can be seen and felt in many of the city’s beautiful plazas.

In terms of its location, San Luis Potosi has been called the, “two-hour city” because it is that far by road to many wonderful destinations such as Zacatecas, Guanajuato, San Miguel de Allende, Matehuala, Dolores Hidalgo, Leon, and many others. Both the city of San Luis Potosi and its surrounding area have a great deal to offer in the way of activities, adventure, beauty, and culture.

The climate in San Luis Potosi varies quite a bit. In the summer, it can be dry and hot with some cool nights. The winter can have many types of weather; sun, rain, warm, cold. Typically, due to the desert atmosphere, it is warm during the day and cool at night.
